Mirgita conducts research on digital twins, looking into issues related to synchronization and system adaptation, among others. Additionally, she is interested in the ethical aspect of autonomous and AI-based systems. During her PhD she has done research in autonomous systems and agents, and systems able to adapt their autonomy depending on the circumstances by collaborating with one another. She has proposed the willingness to interact concept and adopted it to solve the k-coverage problem and extending the longevity of wireless sensor networks.
